What "Know Your Customer" means

Know Your Customer (KYC) is the standard process by which a financial service confirms that a client is a real, identifiable person, and that the information provided at registration is accurate.

In practice, KYC at Boyne Wealthholm means we collect and confirm a small set of basic facts about you: your full legal name, your date of birth, your country of residence, your contact details and the payment method you intend to use. We compare the details you typed into the sign-up form with the details shown on the documents you upload.

What we do not do

We do not ask for your online banking password, your full card PIN, or remote access to your device. No member of our team will ever request those. Any message that does is not from us and should be reported through the abuse form.

What "anti-money laundering" means

Anti-money laundering (AML) is the set of internal controls a financial service uses to prevent its platform from being used to move the proceeds of crime, to finance illegal activity, or to disguise the true origin of funds.

Anti-money-laundering procedures extend beyond a single identity verification. They encompass categorisation of accounts by risk level, screening for sanctioned entities and individuals with prominent political positions, controls on non-standard deposit sources, documentation retention, internal notification of questionable transactions and, where legally mandated, notification to the relevant regulator.

Where AML rules and a client instruction conflict, the AML rules take priority. That can mean a delayed transaction, a request for additional documents, or a restricted account until the matter is resolved.

Rationale

Why verification is required

  1. 01

    Legal obligation

Services that hold or transmit client funds are generally required to identify their clients before providing the service. This is not optional and applies to every account without exception.

  2. 02

    Protecting your money

Verification ties an account to one identifiable owner. It makes account takeover far harder, and it means withdrawals can only be sent back to a payment method proven to belong to you.

  3. 03

    Keeping the platform clean

Screening prevents sanctioned entities and opaque corporate structures from accessing the service, thereby safeguarding all other users on the platform.

  4. 04

    Faster payouts later

An account verified up front does not have to stop for checks at withdrawal time, which is when delays are least welcome.

Documents

Which documents are accepted

We may request documents from up to three categories. Submissions must be colour photos or PDFs, entirely visible in frame, unaltered, with all edges and all written content clearly readable.

1. Identity document

A document issued by government authorities bearing your image, complete name, birth date, identification number and validity expiration. Typical examples include a passport, state-issued identity card, or photographic driver's licence. The document must be current and valid.

2. Proof of address

A recent document, usually issued within the last few months, showing your name and your residential address as it appears on your account. Typical examples are a utility statement, a bank or card statement, a local tax or municipal notice, or an official letter from a public authority. Post-office boxes and addresses belonging to someone else are not accepted.

3. Proof of payment method

Evidence that the funding instrument belongs to you. For a card, that is normally an image of the card showing your name, the first six and last four digits and the expiry date, with the remaining digits and the security code covered. For a transfer from a bank account, that is a statement or confirmation in your name showing the account identifier. For an electronic wallet, a screenshot of the account profile showing your name and the account identifier.

Formats and file size

Upload limits, accepted file types and any additional document requests are shown in the verification area of your account. Documents in a language other than the account language may require a translation; the compliance team will tell you if that applies.

Process

The verification steps

  1. 01

    Register

Register your account using your legal name as recorded in official records, birth date, country where you live, email address and mobile number. Mismatches between account details and submitted documents represent the primary reason for processing delays.

  2. 02

    Confirm contact details

Validate receipt of messages at your email and, if applicable, your phone. This establishes that you control these communication channels.

  3. 03

    Upload your identity document

Upload the pages that carry your photograph and personal data. Some checks include a short liveness or selfie step to confirm the document belongs to the person holding it.

  4. 04

    Upload proof of address

Submit a current acceptable document bearing your name corresponding to your registered address.

  5. 05

    Confirm the payment method

Furnish documentation establishing the payment method for both account funding and withdrawal requests.

  6. 06

    Screening and review

Our compliance team reviews the file, runs the required sanctions and risk screening, and either approves the account or asks for a correction.

  7. 07

    Confirmation

You receive a notification once the account status changes. The current status is always visible in the verification area of your account.

Timing

How long a check takes

Routine approved submissions typically receive approval within several hours or one to two working days. Submissions requiring further review, translation services or supplementary materials may require extended processing.

Processing duration varies based on submission quantity, image quality and whether additional compliance checks are activated. The expected completion window applicable to your specific account, along with the current evaluation stage for each file, appears within your account dashboard - this displayed estimate should be your reference point rather than any other quoted timeframe.

  • Submissions that are legible, thorough and unmodified receive faster processing.
  • Requests submitted outside business hours are queued for the next working day.
  • Enhanced review, where required, adds time and is communicated to you.
Troubleshooting

Why a check can be rejected

A document rejection typically reflects a file quality issue rather than concerns about your eligibility. Frequently, resubmission of the file results in account activation without further delays.

ReasonHow to fix it

If a decision is unclear to you, contact support and ask for the reason. Where the law permits us to explain, we will.

Ongoing controls

Ongoing transaction monitoring

Verification is not a one-time event. Accounts and transactions are monitored for as long as the relationship lasts.

What is monitored

Deposit and withdrawal behaviour, substitution of payment methods, modification of jurisdiction or communication details, conduct inconsistent with the information supplied during registration, and any conduct identified through our automated compliance screening.

What can happen as a result

  • A request for refreshed documents or an explanation of the source of funds.
  • A temporary hold on a specific transaction while it is reviewed.
  • Modification of the thresholds displayed in your account.
  • Restriction or closure of the account where the law requires it.

Records

Personal identification information and records of all transactions are kept for the duration stipulated by applicable regulations following termination of the business relationship, and are managed pursuant to our Privacy Policy. In certain circumstances the law prevents us from telling a client that a report has been made.

Your side

Your obligations

  • Supply truthful, up-to-date and thorough information, maintaining accuracy at all times.
  • Use only your own funds and your own payment instruments - never someone else's.
  • Keep one account only, and keep your credentials private.
  • Supply requested documents before the deadline specified in the notice.
  • Tell us promptly if you change country of residence, legal name or payment method.
  • Notify us without delay of any suspected unauthorised use of your account.

Submitting falsified or altered documents is a serious matter. It leads to closure of the account and, where applicable law requires, notification of the competent authority.

Support

Where to ask questions

If anything on this page is unclear, or you want to know the exact status of your own verification, ask us before uploading again.

Who reviews my documents?

A trained compliance reviewer. Files are stored on restricted systems, and access is limited to staff who need it for the check.

Can I start before I am verified?

Account registration and browsing are permitted, however completion of deposits, trading activity and processing of withdrawals require verification status as displayed in your account.

Do I have to verify again later?

It is possible. Documents expire, residences change and routine verification updates represent standard AML practice. Should an update be necessary, we will reach out.

How do I contact the compliance team?

Use the contact route on our contact page and use the terms "KYC" or "verification" in your correspondence, including the email linked to your account. Refrain from submitting document images via insecure methods - instead add them through your account dashboard.

Licenses & regulatory information

Before you upload

Get verified once, cleanly

Ninety per cent of delays come from three things: a blurred photo, an out-of-date address document, and a payment method in someone else's name. Fix those and most checks pass first time.

Need help with a document?

The support team can specify which document was not accepted and the reason for rejection.

  • Check the verification area of your account first.
  • Reach out to our support team using the email address associated with your account.
